Udaipur, Also known as the "City of Lakes," is a city in Rajasthan, famous for its lakes, landscapes, rich history. Founded by Maharana udai singh 2 in 1559 Udaipur served as the capital of the Mewar Kingdom and is famous for its unique blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architectural styles. Historical Background The history of Udaipur is deeply intertwined with the Rajputana legacy. The Mewar rulers, especially Maharana Pratap known for their fight for independence and battles against Mughal emperors. Geography   Udaipur is nestled in the Aravalli Range, surrounded by rolling hills and dotted with serene lakes. The most famous among these is Lake Pichola, an artificial lake created in the 14th century. Its a popular spot for boat rides. The lake is home to two islands: Jag Mandir, which features a luxury palace, and Mohabbat Mahal.
